Application requirements functions of smart meters

The smart meter can collect analog quantities. After three-phase current input (A, B, C three-phase current) and three-phase voltage input to the meter, we can get more abundant data through these 6 basic data. For example: three-phase current, average current, current maximum value (including the time when the maximum value occurs), etc.

On the user’s demand side, it is mainly used for the following aspects:
(1) Measure electrical parameters. Measuring the electrical parameters of electrical equipment is the most basic requirement for users to choose an instrument. In view of the fact that the range of electrical parameters that can be measured by smart power meters is too wide, and many products are priced separately for different measurement function groups, we must choose the appropriate meter according to the actual needs of users, and spend the least investment to achieve customer needs. . For example: for the main incoming line interval, it is recommended to monitor all electrical parameters;
For the unimportant outlet interval, you can only measure the current parameter.

(2) Statistics of electricity consumption. By applying the power metering function of the power meter, the statistics of the power consumption of each electrical equipment can be realized. In terms of simply realizing this demand, the function of the watt-hour meter is replaced by an instrument.

(3) Power quality monitoring. With the continuous improvement of users’ attention to power quality, the power quality of each important distribution node can be monitored with meters. For example, install a power meter with harmonic monitoring at the main incoming switch; install a power meter with harmonic monitoring at the front end of important harmonic source equipment (such as UPS).

(4) If the power meter is used as the front-end equipment for data acquisition, the meter must have a communication interface and open the communication protocol. Through the network, the measurement data is shared to a third-party platform to realize remote monitoring of electrical parameters; the operating status data of field equipment is shared to a third party to realize remote monitoring of the operating status; the power consumption data is shared to build a power management system.
